Hurricane Ike Animal Rescue

Posted on | September 24, 2008 | 2 Comments

Belinda Bell, an Atlanta Humane Society employee and canine handler with Central Georgia K-9 Search and Rescue, has been deployed in Galveston Texas to help rescue the animal victims of hurricane Ike. After completing that assignment, her team was transferred to Beaumont Texas to assist one of their animal shelters. Upon arriving, they found the shelter deserted of workers and found two hundred abandoned animals in the facilities. They have now made arrangements to bring some of these animals back to Atlanta Georgia to find homes and be taken care of.
